Giants vs Royals Odds 2014 World Series Game 6
World Series Game 6
The Giants are on the cusp of winning their third Fall Classic in five years, but they will need to thwart the Royals in Kansas City as the 2014 World Series returns to Kauffman Stadium for Game 6. The First pitch for the game tonight is set for 8:07 p.m. ET. Coverage will be provided by FOX. Opening Giants vs Royals Game 6 odds have Kansas City, which will start rookie Yordano Ventura, listed as a -140 money line favorite while the Over seven runs is drawing -125 MLB Odds.
Kansas City is, no doubt, thankful to be home after the way Games 4 and 5 went in San Francisco. The Giants pounded their way to an 11-4 victory on Saturday to even the series at two games apiece and they secured a 3-2 advantage on Sunday night as Madison Bumgarner held the Royals to four hits over nine innings in a 5-0 win.
In spite of those two results, bookmakers and bettors are eyeing a KC bounce back tonight. With the return to Kansas City comes a lineup adjustment as Ned Yost will, in all probability, revert back to the same batting order that resulted in a 9-1 postseason record for the Royals.
Of course, it also means the return of the DH, which puts one of KC’s best bats, Billy Butler, back in the lineup to face a pitcher he has brutalized in the Giants’ Jake Peavy. Butler was 2-for-3 with two RBI against Peavy in the Game 2 win. He is 14-for-33 lifetime against the former Cy Young winner. He has three home runs and eight driven in.
Ventura On Fire in World Series
On the other side of the ledger, San Francisco will get its second crack at rookie flame thrower Yordano Ventura. Ventura has seen KC go 9-1 in his last 10 appearances. He was not spectacular in his Game 2 clash with the Giants. He performed well enough, as he limited San Francisco to eight hits and two runs over 5.1 innings. The way the Giants have swung the bat the last two nights, the Royals may need a lock down effort from Ventura this evening.
MLB Betting Trends: The Giants are 2-9 in their last 11 games playing as an underdog coming off a game in which they held the opposition to one or fewer runs. Jake Peavy, whose teams are 0-6 in his last six outings at Kauffman Stadium, got the start in three of the nine losses.
The Royals are 7-3 this season when playing off back to back road losses. The Under was 9-1 in those same 10 games.
