College Football Odds Week 6

oklahoma state mike gundyThe Week 6 college football opens on Thursday night with a two game lineup that includes a Pac 12 battle between Washington and 17th ranked USC. Bovada’s latest College Football Odds release has the Trojans laying 17 in the conference tilt. Also in action are AAC rivals SMU and Houston; the 4-0 Cougars are lined as -25.5 home favorite against their West Division brethren.

Friday’s lineup also consists of two games, although it is devoid of ranked teams. Southern Miss will battle Marshall in the first contest (Thundering Herd are a -5 home favorite) and Virginia Tech will host North Carolina State in the second. The Hokies find themselves in a rare home underdog role as they are getting a point from the Wolfpack.

The big boys come calling on Saturday as nine teams from the AP Poll’s Top 25 look to improve to 6-0. Among those are No. 1 Ohio State, No. 2 TCU, No. 4 Michigan State, No. 13 Northwestern and No. 23 Cal.

The Buckeyes, Horned Frogs and Spartans are favored at -33.5, -9.5 and -14.5 points against Maryland, Kansas State and Rutgers, respectively. Northwestern and Cal are lined as underdogs, though.

Pat Fitzgerald’s squad is getting 7.5 points from the 18th ranked Michigan Wolverines at the Big House while the Golden Bears are drawing the same +7.5 line at No. 5 Utah.

Northwestern and California are not the only undefeated ranked teams expected to fall this weekend. No. 21 Oklahoma State is listed as a +7 road underdog to West Virginia, which fell out of the Top 25 with last week’s 24-44 loss to Oklahoma.

Mike Gundy’s Cowboys are 5-1 against the spread in their last seven games playing as a road dog of seven or fewer points. The Mountaineers, who have dropped their last two against Oklahoma State, are 0-4 opposite the number in their last four games playing as a home favorite coming off a road loss.
