2018 AFC Championship Odds

Patriots Reload in Quest for 2018 AFC Championship

No, it’s not football season, but its drawing ever closer it and, let’s be honest, the NFL never really leaves the scene. And this article is further evidence of that fact. 2018 AFC Championship Odds are out and we are bringing them to you.

I’m sure most of you have the Patriots penciled in as the favorite to win the conference and you would be correct. Tom Brady and company are drawing +200 odds to claim the Lamar Hunt Trophy for the third time in four years. New England cruised through last year’s AFC playoffs, thrashing the Texans and Steelers to earn a Super Bowl 51 meeting with the Falcons.

The Pats did nothing in the offseason to change their top dog status; in fact, they only improved their already enviable position by acquiring wide receiver Brandin Cooks as well as free agents Kony Ealy and Stephon Gilmore.

The rich do, indeed, get richer.

Large Pack Could Contend for 2018 AFC Championship

Following Patriots on the odds maker’s leaderboard are the Steelers at +675 odds. Pittsburgh added a couple of nice free agent pieces in defensive back Coty Sensabaugh and wide receiver Justin Hunter and it also gets the potentially dynamic Martavis Bryant back from suspension.

Also in the top five favorites to win the 2018 AFC Championship are the Raiders, Texans and Chiefs at +800, +850 and +1100, respectively. All three of those teams participated in last year’s playoffs, but they combined for a 1-3 record.

Houston has some question marks on offense, but its defense, which led the league with a 301.3 yards per game allowed average last season, will be incredibly tough to handle.

Oakland put together a 12-4 season last year but it had to navigate its first playoff appearance since 2002 without quarterback David Carr. With Carr back from injury and the addition of Marshawn Lynch, pundits are expecting the Raiders to fare better than both the Chiefs and Broncos, who are a combined 8-4 in their last 12 meetings with the Silver and Black.

Rounding out the list are the Broncos (+1200), Colts (+1500), Ravens (+1500), Titans (+2000), Bengals (+2500), Dolphins (+2500), Jaguars (+3000), Chargers (+3500), Bills (+4500), Jets (+8000) and Browns (+15000).
